Extra Credit

I am watching a YouTube tutorial on how to curl your hair with a straightener. First, you have to put curling lotion on your hair. The brand that works the best is "Hot Sauce". Then you smooth it all over your hair. After that, you are supposed to take about 1/2 inch thick pieces of hair at a time and start curling them. You start down about 3 inches from the top of the piece of hair. Then you take the piece of hair and wrap it around the straightener. After you have the hair wrapped, you pull it through until it's straight. Then pull the straightener out and you are left with a perfect curl.
I tried this method on my own hair and it worked very well! My whole hair was curled using a straightener in about a half hour. It was very easy and very efficient. I am glad that I watched this YouTube tutorial because maybe I can even use this method of curling hair on my friends now too!

This is the link of the YouTube tutorial I watched.

Theodore Roosevelt Story

Theodore Roosevelt Paper
Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 10, 1889. He was a very interesting man. On November 5, 1912, his candidacy was realized in full view. Many people in America supported Roosevelt’s campaign, but that was not enough. Roosevelt failed to become president. In the fall of 1913, after he had failed to regain presidency, he headed for South America. He took with him a small group of men to accompany him on his journey. In December 1913, Roosevelt and his small group of men embarked on a journey to explore and map Brazil’s River of Doubt.
Roosevelt and his crew had many struggles on their journey. One of them was Roosevelt got very sick and suffered malaria. He also suffered a deadly bacterial infection from slicing his leg on a boulder. Another struggle that they came across in their journey is that Roosevelt and his crew encountered deadly waves while they were sailing, which forced them to abandon their canoes and go out into the jungle.
Roosevelt became very angry during the journey because of all the hardships he had to  overcome. One time, he got so angry that he murdered one of his crew members just through desperation and rage. He was getting annoyed because he wanted to explore the River of Doubt, but he did not know about all of the hardships he would encounter along the way.
There may have been many hardships along the way, but Roosevelt and his crew made it out of their journey to the River of Doubt alive. Roosevelt lived a long life, but suddenly died from a self-inflicted gunshot on June 4, 1943. He was a very successful man who made a lot of accomplishments in his life.

The duties of the FTC are to promote fair competition through the enforcement of certain antitrust laws; to prevent the dissemination of false and deceptive advertising of goods, drugs, curative devices, and cosmetics; and to investigate the workings of business and keep Congress and the public informed of the efficiency of such antitrust legislation as exists, as well as of practices and situations that may call for further legislation.

Copyright and Creative Commons fall into this area by the FTC having to enforce the copyright and creative commons laws.

Identity Theft

Identity Theft
1.    Some mistakes that this woman made to have her identity stolen are using a debit card for almost everything she buys, and because of using a debit card, she could not be reimbursed for all the money that she got stolen from her.
2.    I feel that identity theft is a big problem these days because people are not smart about their money, and they do not protect themselves as much as they should.
3.    To steal a person’s identity you would have to have their social security number, their credit card number, and their driver’s license.
4.    To protect yourself from getting your identity stolen, you can get your credit report regularly.
5.    I think the person that is the identity theft is to blame because they should not be in other people’s business.

Emerging Technologies

Emerging Technologies
1.    The Fold it and Go Phone- It is a new phone that all you do is fold it up and it is a portable cell phone. It is a touch screen and the whole phone is completely see-through. You can also bend this phone as well as fold it. It is tomorrow’s most popular phone.
2.    An Electronic Nose- It is a device intended to detect odors or flavors. The electronic nose was developed in order to mimic human olfaction that functions as a non-separative mechanism: i.e. an odor / flavor is perceived as a global fingerprint. Essentially the instrument consists of head space sampling, sensor array, and pattern recognition modules, to generate signal pattern that are used for characterizing odors.

Jean Hoerni

Jean Hoerni invented the planar process. The planar process is a manufacturing process used in the semiconductor industry to build individual components of a transistor, and in turn, connect those transistors together. This is the process by which integrated circuits are built. The concept of this was to view a circuit in its two-dimensional projection, allowing the use of film negatives to mask the projection of light exposed chemicals. This process involves the procedures of silicon dioxide, oxidation, silicon dioxide etching, and heat diffusion.

This invention changed the world by making circuits available to people. Circuits are very useful in our lives.I also use circuits in my life.

Questions about QR Codes

My phone cannot read QR Codes.

The purpose that I see for QR Codes are making things a lot easier for people that maybe can't get to the computer or store, so they can just scan the barcodes from their phones.

This is my QR Code. It is cool :)
